Information About Acne And Its Treatment


Acne is a skin condition that causes whiteheads, blackheads, and inflamed red growths (papules, pustules, and cysts) to form. These growths are commonly called pimples. Pimples form when hair follicles under your skin clog up. Most pimples form on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. Anyone can get acne, but it is common in teenagers and young adults. It is not serious, but it can cause scars. Most people with acne are aged between 12 and 25, but some older and younger people are affected. Acne usually affects the face but may also affect the back, neck, and chest. The severity can range from mild to severe. About 9 in 10 teenagers develop some degree of acne.

Symptoms

The problem of acne can be seen in both men and women both. It commonly appears on the face and shoulders but it can also be seen on the trunk, arms, legs, and buttocks. Main symptoms of acne are blackheads, crusting of skin bumps, cysts, papules (small red bumps), pustules, redness around the skin eruptions, scarring of the skin and whiteheads.
